Terms & conditions of sale
Effective 8 October 2026. These terms apply to Bearings Online SA website enquiries and sales, subject to mandatory South African law. Nothing excludes rights under the Consumer Protection Act (CPA), Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECTA), POPIA or other applicable law.
Enquiries, quotes and orders
Catalogue references, search results and basket entries are invitations to enquire, not confirmed stock or binding offers. A written quote specifies the offered designation, brand, quantity, unit price, VAT, lead time, delivery option and expiry. Check these details before acceptance; request corrections before proceeding. No substitution may be made without your agreement. Quotes expire as stated and require reissue if the destination or specification changes. Acceptance through the private quote page records your order on the quoted terms. Payment confirmation and the agreed lead time govern fulfilment. A material availability problem or obvious pricing error will be communicated promptly; changes require your agreement or cancellation and refund as applicable.
Prices and payment
Unit selling prices are in South African rand and VAT-exclusive unless expressly stated. VAT and selected courier charges are itemised before acceptance, with the total payable including VAT. EFT or card payment is available only where enabled at checkout. EFT requires cleared funds; proof of payment alone does not authorise dispatch. Verify bank details through our established sales contact if any change is requested. Never send card credentials through email or WhatsApp. We will not impose an undisclosed charge after acceptance.
Specification and technical suitability
Provide complete markings, suffixes, dimensions, application and operating conditions. Dimensions or photographs alone do not prove interchangeability. Tell us expressly if goods must suit a particular purpose. Ask for written confirmation of any proposed equivalent before ordering. Use competent installation and follow manufacturer instructions. This does not remove statutory quality, fitness-for-purpose or product-liability rights.
Delivery and collection
The delivery/collection policy forms part of these terms. Courier costs are disclosed on your quote. A changed destination requires a revised quote before dispatch. Lead times are estimates unless expressly agreed as firm; statutory remedies for late or unavailable goods remain available. Goods remain our property until fully paid, to the extent permitted by law; this does not shift statutory delivery risk to you prematurely.
Cancellations, returns and defects
The returns and refunds policy forms part of these terms. A special sourcing request is not automatically excluded from statutory cancellation rights. Any lawful exception or separately agreed cancellation condition must be disclosed before acceptance. No blanket “no refunds” rule applies.
Accounts, records and disputes
Keep account credentials and private quote links confidential. Tell us promptly about unauthorised use. Account access does not authorise disclosure of another person’s orders. Keep your quote, invoice and payment records. Raise complaints with sales@bearingsonlinesa.co.za, quoting your request/order number. You may also use applicable consumer tribunals, regulators, ombuds or courts. South African law applies without restricting mandatory consumer remedies or lawful jurisdiction.
Website use and liability
Do not scrape, automate bulk extraction, republish commercial information, interfere with the website or attempt unauthorised access. Brand names and trademarks belong to their owners and do not imply authorised-distributor status unless expressly confirmed. Website material is general assistance. To the extent legally permitted, we are not responsible for losses caused solely by unauthorised use, incorrect information supplied by you or installation contrary to instructions. No term excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable product liability, fraud or gross negligence. Changes to these terms apply prospectively; the version agreed for your order governs it.
